hi guys can anyone help me with a few question about the Maldivian Culture?
I am pretty certian that the counrty is a Muslim country but are there any rules and regs visitors have to abide by when arriving to the country??? please reply.. thanku

no public nudity in the resort. string bikinis are frowned upon and best kept on your own terrace .. on visits to inhabited islands , you will need to cover shoulders and knees. tipping is part of the culture. obviously, on inhabited islands , you shouldn%26#39;t walk around with alcoholic drinks in hand. most resorts have a no swimwear policy for meals.
otherwise .. just relax . basic polite manners , common decency and a big smile will get you far .

I was going to ask the same question - bfluffy do you know about the opening saga of velassaru?if not go read the velassaru forums!!
Also , you cant bring Alcohol or Pornographie into the country, no nude / topless bathing, you will find a mix of Maldivians --Indian and Sri Lankan staff,--- When in Rome .

Apart from the general advice already given you don%26#39;t need to worry about festivals like Ramadam these are all international resorts and there are no eating or drinking restrictions within them at any time but you are not allowed to import your own alcohol into the Maldives
