Water Bungalows at Summer Island Village

Hi can anyone advise about the water bungalows- is the sun deck big enough for your sun lounger and it states in the brochure that you can pay to have the light switched on at night to watch the fish from the glass panel situated in the WB, also having gone AI at Kuredu/Komandoo and Oluvehli beach towels were included, SIV state there is a charge or because there is no pool do we just use the normal bath/shower towels, also can you take drinks back to your accommodation-many thanks :-)

You have to pay for beach towels and no you do not use the normal bath towels.

As to the other stuff - they have a site on face book and you get quicker response from the manager off that than emailing them

As to other questions will have the answer in 24 horus and will post on my return.

Many thanks for your reply- have a fantastic time!

Hi bigpants,

I have just got back from Summer Island. We had a water bungalow. The deck is not big enough for a sunlounger. They provide you with two chairs and a small table. Your sunlounger is on the beach, you have your own number on it and a little thatch shelter to go with it.

You do not pay to switch the light on under the floor. The bungalows face west so you get afternoon and evening sunshine. The fish come to eat the bread and soggy toast left over from breakfast!

You can have breakfast brought to your room each morning but the choice is limited and not very good.

Better to go to restaurant if you do not mind the 10 minute walk.

No beach towels are provided and you are not allowed to take room towels. You can hire towels, we took our own.

There is a mini bar in the room but....you cannot keep alcohol in it becuase it is served in a glass and if you take a glass to the room they will fine you 250 us dollarrs!!!! Beer cans are opened at the bar. Soft drinks are coke, fanta and sprite. Take a bottle opener with you. No fruit juices for the room. You have to get your water at the bar and carry it back to your room.

When your luggage is delivered to your room you will need someUS dollars for tips because they will not go away until the get it.

Hope this helps. Have a good holiday.
