Flying Sri Lankan Airlines

Hi everyone. Have any of you flown to the Maldives with Sri Lankan Airlines recently? Were you able to pre-book your seats through their Flysmiles club? If so, how did you do it? My OH has joined the club but is unable to find the facility to choose our seats. We%26#39;re not travelling until the end of May so maybe it%26#39;s too soon?

We found the same problem last year - flew with Sri Lankan in July. I do not think you can pre-book your seats with Sri Lankan airways but as a member of their Flymiles Club I think you can specify a preference i.e. window/aisle seat but not much else.

We are flying to the Maldives this week with Sri Lanken airlines and have managed to pre book our seats through Flysmiles, this is done online through sri lankan, you register with flysmiles and they give you a flysmiles number each.

We booked through Kuoni and they don鈥檛 release passenger names to the airline until about 4 weeks before you fly. You then ring Kuoni for a reference on 01306 747002. you then ring Sri Lankan Airlines on 020 8538 2001 and tell them when you are flying and your Kuoni reference and that you are a member of Flysmiles. We were given outbound and inbound seat allocations.

We just have to wait and see if this has worked, we go on Thursday.

Thanks to you all for responding to this post. Please let us know if it worked Ian- seems a bit of a palaver when you can just do it online with other airlines. Let me know what your seats were like %26amp; do you think you could keep a lookout for which seats have the entertainment box under them %26amp; let me know? My OH is 6%26#39;4'; %26amp; always seems to get a seat behind one of those, which means he can%26#39;t stretch his legs under the seat in front.

Just flown Sri Lankan and many empty seats - several people made quick move to get 4 to themselves - should suit OH.

Yes, we pre-booked but Kuoni had a blcok booking so got different seats (window %26amp; aisle); took 1 hour to check in but don%26#39;t think affected were we sat as seemed to have been preallocated.

That%26#39;s quite worrying, about the empty seats bit. I%26#39;m booked to fly with them in August. Hope they don%26#39;t cancel the flight or change it back to indirect or something.
