concerned booking Hudhuranfushi august 09

Hi All,

We are due to book Hudhuranfushi for our Honeymoon in august 09, we are a little worried after reading some reports.. We have had a quote with first choice/thompson for 2weeks AI.

Just a few questions???

1) Is 2weeks too long on 1 island??

2) Is surfing free on the Island we have been reading about charges on some of the Islands?

3) Which Beach Villa%26#39;s would you recommend, we have heard the 200%26#39;s are best???

4)Are drinks free from the surfers viewing bar?

5) Some poor pics of the beach villa%26#39;s how did you find the villa%26#39;s

6) Some resorts offer free upgrade to Water Villa%26#39;s for honeymooners--is this a possibility??

7)What about the snorkeling?? Good our do you have to go on trips..

Cheers--looking forward to the replies

As it%26#39;s going to be your honeymoon I%26#39;d look elsewhere. Surfing ... not on this island.

There are better other islands so if I was you I%26#39;d go back to the drawing table and select another island ..... occupancy is very low as their reputation isn%26#39;t very good and they already have had a name change from Herethera as they are trying to shake off Herethera bad reputation.

sorry ... I know this wasn%26#39;t what you wanted to hear.

Isn%26#39;t Hurhuranfushi the island formerly known as Lohifushi?

I think Herathera was renamed Handufushi. I was of the impression Hudhuranfushi is known as a surfers island...but could be wrong..usually am :-)

cheers

Ian

Are you sure we are talking about the correct Island I thought it was once called Lohifushi? Please let us know as we were looking at booking tomorrow (sunday 8/03/09...

Cheers

Hi SXR,

It was formerly Lohifushi and the reef break on the island is lohi%26#39;s.

surfline.com/surf-report/…

I have no info on what rooms or upgrades, but I can tell you that the reef is not good for snorkelling compared with other resorts.

Reading the link above it seems that the reef can get over crowded with surfers to?? If surfing is priority then Dhonveli would be a better option, as they limit the reef to 25 surfers at one time.

hi sxr

i can answer some of your questions

1) no it%26#39;s not to long, but it doesn%26#39;t hurt to go to 2 as all islands are differant

2)

not sure i think that they charge you.

3) 200%26#39;s are the best part of the island

4)no the drinks are chargeable rom the surf bar.you only get your all inclusive drinks from the beach bar and main bar

5)found the villas fine a bit basic but kept clean

6)don%26#39;t know for honeymooners they normally charge about £150 to upgrade

7) snorkerling is reasonable but to get better i would go on trips which cost $25

hope this helps

I apologise for my error.. misread the island%26#39;s name!

(and yes I was still drinking my wine at the time!)

(Ian, wouldn%26#39;t have had this problem if it was Tiger!)
