to anybody going to this lovely island,

iv been reading what folks are saying and was feeling a bit concerend we have just booked to go on the 30th oct for 2weeks we are so excited to go and now i feel down with looking at some of the photos that have been put up, carnt belive it looks like a building site! we so hope that by the time we go it will be as it should be,..so anyone out there thats going before 30th oct please let me no if its improved,... thanks!!

sorry to ask but when you have been can you tell me what you think when u come back as i have booked to go here 4 my honymoon june 2009. i can say that at the morment i am looking forward to going even though ive heard lots of bad thing about the island. ppl like the resort and say the staff are great, rooms clean and food good ect so at least thats good news. but dont like the island and say the beachers not as nice as others around the maldives but then again i heard that some place bleach the sand/ coral to make it so white. good luck try not to worry im sure you will make the most of it and if you see a part of the island you dont like then try not to pass it every day.

There is a good video link , posted by Sarah,C on 24th June 2007--Title Herathera island, it shows some of the rooms and a little bit of beach these are the good points and anyone came show the best side of anywhere, although it does not show the concrete or the walkways and the sand leaves a lot to be desired, Hope this helps.

Hi there...

we go next thursday the 30th,...we did nearly change our hols after getting a letter from first choice saying that there is still works going on...but decided to just go and keep fingers crossed that all will be ok!!!!we are so looking forward to this hol so hopefully it will be great we keep looking on tripadviser to see if any new comments but there dont seem to be any...so yes when we return il let you no.....

We have just come back from Handhufushi resort. WHAT A DISASTER!!! we arrived, to find that there were no sandy beaches, sat TV not working, no WIFI in rooms. The lagoon stank and had algae problems. Greeted at the resort with a map showing no swimming around the island. Half of the island was closed off due to low occupancy. They cant expect to improve the occupancy, while the island is unfinished. Some of the staff were very helpful , whilst alot were not interested. You need boots to walk on what beach they have got. If you want to see pictures post your e-mail address as i have loads. I have complained to our agent and asked for our money back. This is not like any of the islands in the north atolls that we have been to. Then to top it off we had a 24 hour delay on the way home.
