Could anyone tell me if Club Faru accept chip and pin bank cards, not credit card dont want to take credit cards with me. thx

All islands take bank cards, some have issues with Maestro cards, but if yours is a visa/mastercard debit it will be fine.

Worth mentioning is that the Maldives can block one off transactions over $1000, so it might be worth settling the bill every week, or few days so you have no problems.

I say this as I had issues paying with my debit card on my last visit, and this was the reason given.

I would email the island direct about this.

Had the same question regarding debit/credit cards for Summer Island Village recently.

They emailed back with the reply that they do not accept any debit cards, just credit cards, TC%26#39;s and cash.

if your debit card is visa/mastercard it is no different to a credit card! Im no banker but come on!

The difference is that a debit card payment comes straight out of your bank account at the moment you use it and a credit card company sends you a bill for whatever amount you have charged to it during the month. You then have the option of paying off the whole balance or making a payment off the outstanding balance.

Don%26#39;t know the reasoning behind this on Summer Island but that is the answer I got.

Snowdrop, I know the difference between debit %26amp; credit cards, what I am trying to say is that if the machine at %26#39;said%26#39; island takes a visa/mastercard credit card, which they ALL do! then it will take a visa/mastercard debit card! as it is the machine dialling into a visa/mastercard server and chaging the transaction to said bank number on the card.

The only cards that do not work at every island are Maestro.

Visa is Visa dosnt matter credit / debit its the same server, infact debit is instant.
