Hi, my wife and I are planning a Maldives trip for May 2009. We were initial going to book everything with a travel agent, but I later found out that i can book my own package seperately and get a better deal. Our SQ flight will arrive late at the airport, and we are wondering if there is any other alternative stay beside the Hulhule Island Resort? I read that some have been taking the water taxi to Male and stay at one of the hotel, but i tried google those hotel, and they don%26#39;t real post rate online.
Thanks in advance.
Need some help with hotel due to late flight arrival
Hi
Which island are you staying at? Some of the ones close to Male will run nightime speedboat transfers, so avoiding the need to stay overnight in Male.

Need some help with hotel due to late flight arrival
Also, what time does your flight arrive?
We are going to stay at Four Season Landaa Giraavaru, and the arrival time is about 2200.
Hi wamtt,
Your flight does mean that you need to wait for the seaplane transfer the following day.
you can get a water taxi to Male from the airport terminal it is $1 us dollar each way per person.
try here, its clean and cheaper than hulule hotel.

Hi
The Four Seasons is a seaplane transfer and these don%26#39;t operate after sunset - which is about 6.00pm. Presumably the Four Seasons are arranging the seaplane for you? In which case they may book a hotel for you - probably at the airport.
This link should give you a list of hotels on Male itself:

There are frequent water taxis from the airport across to Male. Cost is about 1$.

Hi again
FUANA INN
Another poster was asking about this place the other day. It is on a new development called Hulhumale Island. This is an artificial island built on reclaimed land just north of the airport island.
The link below is to the hotel%26#39;s website:

It is only a few minutes from the airport.
Hope this helps
