Vilamendhoo Questions

Hi,

I have just booked to go to Vilamendhoo in July, I would appreciate any tips people might have for this island.

We have booked a deluxe bungalow, which are the best room numbers for these so that we can try to get one reserved in advance?

Does somebody have a good island map which shows the location of the room numbers and facilities?

What are the room electrical sockets like? Do they take UK 3 pin plugs or do we need an adapter?

Any other tips would be appreciated.

HI,idon%26#39;t know which bungalows are de luxe,so can%26#39;t comment on that.The electric sockets are the same as ours so no need for adaptors.

We took $ for tips and if you pay cash in the shop (and ask) you%26#39;ll get a discount,we got $67 worth of stuff for $50.

I think one of the older photos on a trip advisor review had a map on it.

Just looking at Vilamendhoo blog as we are going to celebrate our anniversary there in June.

Could you please email me your map of the island if you still have it.

Sounds like the rooms on the South side are the favourite.

If you want to be near the bar the south side is best but if you want to feel away from things the quietest (and we thought best) place is at the Eastern end near rooms 31 %26amp; 32. The map will tell you more about the numbers. We loved this part of the island and were most happy that we had been given a room there. It was a long walk back at night though.

Enjoy Vila - it%26#39;s just gorgeous and the snorkelling%26#39;s really fab.

I agree with wid that 31 and 32 are by far the best rooms on the island - there is a huge expanse of beach outside them.

We asked for one of these but got 30 instead, which is also nice.

As wid said, you are further away from the bar etc but I always enjoyed the long walk back

I would recommend you try the lobster on the ebach - it was fantastic and really good value.

The snorkelling is great too, just watch out for the feisty Napolean trigger fish!

We loved the walk to breakfast along the beach in the morning with the sun on our backs. And also getting up and seeing the sunrise OOH!

Hi, me and my husband were there last year we stayed in a delux room on the south side,it was number 114 we had no view just a great big bush to look at for two weeks, but number 115 is detached and has a partial sea view i think this is the only one detached as the rest are semi detached.But a word of warning the delux rooms have interconnecting doors to the room next door which they do not tell you about and sometimes you could hear the people next door just thought you should know this.These rooms are near the sunset bar but that did%26#39;nt bother us.We had a great time there.Have a great holiday.

31, 32, 33 (which we had) are all detached and there are others too.
