meeru or kureda?

cant decide between the two. ANy advice on which is better? we like nice soft beaches chilled bars and restaurants.

meeru or kureda?

I would of said Meeru, but we where due to fly in 6 weeks and we have just been told by Thomson that their are building works there now.. We are now going to Irufushi.

meeru or kureda?

The building works are nothing, you cant hear let alone see it! people who have changed there island will prob regret it as you cant see ot hear the building and its all covered.

they are both very large, busy islands , so i am assuming that absolute quiet and serenity is not the top requirement .. it appears that the meeru building is on the north end ... see meeru map http://www.meeru.com/island/island.aspx most beach villas are pretty far away from the site and noise should be minimal. here are some fairly current pictures of the construction: http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/96266019.

having said all that .. between those two i would choose kuredu for its nice rooms and good, helpful management.

lots of pics of both islands under this link http://www.malediven.net/Bilder/index.htm

grrr .. lets try that again http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/96266019

sorry about that

You don%26#39;t mention if or what prices you%26#39;ve been quoted for each for equivalent accommodation at each. I%26#39;m not sure about Meeru but Kuredu offers allot of different room types and prices. They have allot of choice of restaurants (some Inc in the AI and some not). I%26#39;m off to Kuredu next month and chose it because it was a bigger Island (by Maldives standards) and offered a variety of bars and eating. I also got a good deal.

Hi

I have just been checking out the unofficial Meeru website (www.meeru.co.uk) and there is a lot of discussion there about the building works for the new swimming pool.

If I read it correctly, the work is taking place near the Pavilion Bar which is the bar near the new JWVs - those numbered in the 300s on the east side.

The north end appears to be unaffected.
