HI, we are off end of april and can;t wait, can anyone tell me which room number is the best in the village ideally we would love to be able to walk straight onto a nice beach from our room.(we%26#39;ve booked deluxe room)thanks
which room number in village?anyone??
which room number in village?all the rooms are wonderful but rooms 1-12 are right on the beach, 20 steps away from the Indian Ocean!
thankyou very much, have put in a request. can;t wait!!
Hi
Went to Kuramathi, this time last year and we too requested a room on the beach and got room 4 but we moved. It depends what you want, one reason we paid the extra for the deluxe room was to have the individual bungalow but rooms 1 - 12 aren%26#39;t - they are in blocks of 4 but are lovely and slightly newer but more concretey feel to them I thought but you do also have a view of the local island and the tower on it which I didn t like. They are also very close to the restaurant and bar so think I would have found it abit claustophobic. We had room 56 (I think !) It was at the back of one of the horsehshoes, so a 2 minute walk to the beach, and you didn t have anyone walking past your room. We also had an amazing five minute walk to the restaurant and bar along the edge of the beach we loved this.
I hope this helps and it really does depend what you want from your room and what things are important to you, but no matter what you will have a brilliant time, as its a lovely lovely place x
On our pervious visits we too have been in the horseshoe area...14 and 23 and when we were told we were going to room 2 I was worried thinking %26#39;oh no its the concrete buildings%26#39;!. I have to say though that we loved it....a few steps from the sea, no bugs! And the outside shower was much better (waterfall), as well as having an indoor shower. We liked being staggering distance from the bar and didn’t find there was too much traffic as the people passing by were just our neighbours. I suppose everyone is different. I have seen people moan about not enough bars and getting very stressed about there not being sun beds. Which ever room you have you will have a fantastic time, I myself wouldnt consider going to the standard rooms but have met people who wouldn’t give them up for the deluxe rooms! Each to their own.
thanks for both your replies,
i%26#39;m having a dilemma now!!! we really would like to be on the beach front with a view of the sea but at the same time don;t want to loose that feeling of being in a nice hut!! we%26#39;ve never been before so have never experienced the hut feeling so i guess the block shouldn;t worry us too much. ooooo not sure what to do now!!
Hi Lizzie
I really wouldn t worry too much, as both rooms are lovely and to be hoest Kuramathi is a fantastic island so you will have a brilliant time whatever room you get. At the end of the day, being on a beautiful island with stunning scenery and as many cocktails as you want to drink free on the AI at the bar, you really won t spend that much time in your room anyway. We just really wanted the individual bungalows as this is what we had stayed in in Thailand a couple of years ago - and after saving for two years to go to the Maldives we had our heart set on them !
Enjoy and have a fab time, I know you will. If you want to know anything else then just ask x
I agree...which ever room you stay in doesnt matter, you will be outside most of the time and all the rooms have there good and bad points depending on who you are. Just go safe in the knowledge that you will have a fantastic time.
Lizzie - I am also going in April/May staying in a standard Kuoni Room. Someone told me that the concrete blocks 1-12 have been demolished at the end of 2008 and replaced with some superior/delux bungalows. I am therefore pretty sure that the standard rooms are the small white huts on the beach but still not sure! Being in a bungalow was important for us too but now I dont really mind. Anyway, whatever room we have I%26#39;m sure they will be ok, just think of the beach!
See you there next month!!
Hi Lulu
thats interesting news, we have booked a superior with kuoni so hopefully they will be the right ones, like you say i%26#39;m sure it will be amazing anyway.
can%26#39;t wait, see you there!
