1 week or 2 at Kuredu Island???

Hi, my boyfriend %26amp; myself are looking at going to the Maldives for the 1st time in January 2010. We are looking at staying on Kuredu Island and were just wondering if we should go for 1 week or 2? We normally try 10 or 11 nights, but First Choice do not offer this option and so far they are the cheapest. We are just looking to chill out and do some snorkelling, maybe an excursion or 2.

Also wondered if anyone knows if the Beach Villa%26#39;s are ok or if it is worth upgrading to the Jacuzzi Beach Villa%26#39;s??

Any advice would be appreciated!!

Thanks

1 week or 2 at Kuredu Island???

Hi Tink

and welcome,

Its got to be 2 weeks everytime --the longer you stay in paradise the better 2 weeks isnot much more cost wise than 1 the biggest cost is the flight. Why do you need a Jacuzzie when the hot clear Indian ocean is only feet away from your doostep.

Rumps

1 week or 2 at Kuredu Island???

Hi there

Have to agree with Rumps - it%26#39;s got to be 2 weeks. Apart from anything else it%26#39;s a heck of a long way to go with an awfully long flight in both directions. I usually spend best part of the first day recovering from the flight. I%26#39;d go for 3, 4 weeks or more if I could!

Hi tink-81

I also agree with the above posters....long way to go for a week ;o)

Scuba Diva

Hi Tink

I half agree with Rumps.

Don%26#39;t waste money on a JBV--enjoy the sea instead,it%26#39;s free!

How long you go for can only be decided by you,we all have different tolerance levels for unlimited food, drink and sunshine.(Actualy perhaps I fully agree with him)

Seriously, for me two weeks would have been too long

and your initial idea of about ten days would be my maximum.

If you think you can stand two weeks in paradise,(and the weight gain),then I%26#39;m sure you won%26#39;t regret it.

Would also advise AI, as all those cooling drinks add up %26amp; it aint cheap in the Maldives.

Go for the beach villas.

If I were you I would do a two centre holiday with their sister island Komandoo 15 minutes away. A few people came over from Kuredu when I was on Komandoo and they loved it.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your reply%26#39;s.

The Beach Villas sound like the best option then !!

I%26#39;m still undecided about how long to go for!! A week doesn%26#39;t sound long enough, but 2 weeks may be too long! I do tend to get bored after too much chilling out - mad as that sounds!!

Why doesn%26#39;t First Choice offer 10/11 nights ?!!!

First Choice only have one flight a week from, say Gatwick - so it has to be 7 or 14 nights...You can probably get 10 nights booking if you fly Emirates etc.

We have been to the Maldives twice now and always just for one week and we find it just about right for us. In fact we are going again in October for a week.

Try Dream Maldives (part of Dream ticket) if you fancy a shorter stay i.e. between a week and 2. They will sort your flight, accomadation and sea plane transfers. I found them to have the best price and seem to have a large allocation of rooms.

Hopes this helps

We have just been for a week to Kuredu and it was great, we did everything we wanted.

We booked through dream ticket and flew Emirates.

It is a long way to go for a week, but more than worth it once you are there - mind over matter for the 14/15 hours travelling!

Whats more you have more holidays to spend later in the year on other exotic destinations!

Hi there, we went to kuredu last feb for one week, then sri lanka. We booked a beach villa and I was very disappointed at the time to be given the ';o'; resort as its on the rocky side. However, the villa was fabulous, restaurant at o resort amazing [no children]and a lovely pool area and amazing seats like beds to watch out to sea.

The snorKelling was good on the other side near the jetty. It took about 15mins walk across, and the sand on that side is lovely to wander along.

The island is very big and tho%26#39;not typical, has a lot of things going on and easy to keep busy for 2 weeks. I loved the snorkelling at Komandoo but couldn%26#39;t afford to stay there.

Hope this helps

Jenny
