Chaaya Reef Ellaidhoo Gift Shop

Having been to the Maldives before have a fair idea what is sold at the gift shop. Could anyone tell me what sort of items are available at the Chaaya Reef gift shop? ie Shower gel? What factor suncreams, lilos etc

As for the lilo --best thing to do is buy new ones from e-bay and take them with you at about £3 as to getting from the islands at £8 + + sun creams on any island will cost a fortune as to taking them with you.

I am aware expensive and limited supply.

Last time we ran out of sun cream only because I had decided to buy some extra at the airport but because we changed planes at Doha could not take any liquid above 100ml in hand luggage. I could have kicked myself for not thinking of this as usually fly direct! We ended up buying a few small aftersuns and suncream for skiing! as only ones available under 100ml.

So be warned if you are changing planes! as your cream could get confiscated1

The shop in Chaaya Ellaidhoo stocks lots of things like shampoo, shower gel etc - I know because I ran out when we were there in September. They also stock a range of suntan lotions - Lots of Banana Boat ones too. They are higher priced that they are in the UK, but good for peace of mind if you run out of things.

They also sell Lilo%26#39;s. We bought one there because it saved space in the suitcase going over. Again they are more expensive but it was worth it to save the extra kilos going out there.

You will absolutely love this island and the people are just the best. Have a great time.

That%26#39;s good to know as a good 5kg usually goes on shower gel,shampoo, sun lotion and aftersun etc

I thought I may get a Lilo if we ended up in a room without much beach. We are in a beach bungalow but myself and husband are not usually very lucky in getting rooms in a good location!

Can%26#39;t wait to get some sun!
