We have never been to the Maldives but we are considering it for next winter. My husband is a diver and I only snorkel, we are looking for an all inclusive resort. Any recommendations? Also what websites should we looking at for best deals to book?
Help choosing a resort
Hi
My husband and I really enjoyed our first trip to the Maldives - we went to Bandos. The house reef was fantastic for snorkling - everything you could wish to see - sharks, rays, coral the most amazingly colourful fish...wonderful. On one of our first days walking aroind the island we saw dolphins playing in the distance, about 20 mtrs off the shoreline. Amazing.
They offer the typical AI experience- buffet style food, night fishing, private island party, crab racing etc. Lots of fun and a very friendly resort. You can use the other restaurants at a supplemented price if I remember rightly and feed the sharks that gather under the stilted restaurant. My overall memory of Bandos is that it was so relaxed and friendly, I think it%26#39;s a good pick for a first holiday in these beautiful Islands.
I did an amateur dive (only about 15mtrs) but was very impressed with waht there was to see - not loads more than when snorkling, but the deeper you go the more wonderfully colourful everything seems to become.
Good Luck and enjoy
Help choosing a resort
Hi,
Not sure what tour operators will operate from Canada. I found the prices on Dreamticket.com to be very competitive. They may be able to arrange a flight from Canada or you could arrange your own flight to somewhere that fly direct to Male-such as London Heathrow or Dubai.
I think if you post your budget you鈥檒l have a better response as the prices range for 拢1000 per week to 拢35,000. Many of the hotels offer different board options with the opportunity to upgrade to AI some on the other hand only offer FB or room only. We鈥檙e going to Kuredu next month, it鈥檚 a larger island but got a good price for AI and they have a large selection of room types to suit most budgets. I think there is better diving and snorkelling to be had but they have one of the largest dive schools. Hope this helps
