Hi,
I know no one would have been to this resort as its due to open early 2008 but I%26#39;ve been looking at the snaps listed on some web pages and it looks like it will be amazing!
Would anyone chance booking their honeymoon %26amp; first time to the Maldives at this resort that is yet to open?!!
Thanks in advance!

Hi Michy78
A least two things would be put me off this resort 1. the planned entertainment Karaoke and Disco! 2. It appears to be surrounded by a lot of very shallow water and a long way to the drop off not ideal for snorkelling. If you want to go I would suggest you wait until definitely open as it appears all the new resorts are being delayed due to labour shortages in the Maldives

Hi mitchy
IMO for your honeymoon i would book an up and running resort with good reviews, you will want everything to be perfect, enough things can go wrong even with precise planning so to risk a brand new place which will undoubtadley have teething troubles would be a risk, depends if you are prepared to take it, having said all that you dont say when you are gettng married so if its 09 you will have a chance to read some reviews before booking (thats if it opens on time!!)
regards susie
Thanks for your responses they are a great help! Our honeymoon will be at the end of September 2008....
We were looking at Meeru aswell but the overbooking reported on a few posts has put us off slightly. Theres so many islands to choose from its a job to know which is the best to go for!

We have been to 5 resorts in the maldives all have been great. Our favourites were Reethi beach and Oluveli and the ones we would rate at the bottom would be meeru and meedapura. Everyone has there own taste. Also been to Sun Island. Its a hard choice good luck

May I just ask what criteria put R and O at the top and the two M%26#39;s at the bottom of your list? O was just recommended to me by a travel agent. I take everything from salespeople with a huge grain of salt. Honest feedback is always more valuable!!!
thx.
Hi,
O was the first island that we ever went to so it will always be special, that was pre tsunami so not sure what it is like now. Reethi beach was the most luxurious and had everything set up right. Meedhupparu was really nice but being picky you couldn%26#39;t walk around the island as the water bungalows are run as a seperate resort and just after we left they were due to renovate the island so it may be completely different. Meeru just seemed to lack .... I can%26#39;t really put my finger on it it just didn%26#39;t seem as Maldivian and is quite a large island. Don%26#39;t get me wrong if you haven%26#39;t been to the Maldives before I sure that any island that you choose will be amazing, its just that once you%26#39;ve been to a couple you start to get choosey about certain things i.e. We%26#39;ll always go to an island that has a house reef as you can come and go when you please, if it hasn%26#39;t there is generally a boat to take you to the closest reef twice a day. If you would like us to go in to more detail please drop us an email and I%26#39;ll be happy to discuss.
