Island Hideaway

We are going to IH for a fortnight leaving next Friday. I am so excited. Any tips from anyone?

Island Hideaway

Gunners,

I am sure you will have a great time.

Tips:-

Take an arsenal shirt for your butler.

Have the dahl for breakfast.

Have the champange for breakfast.. They will open the bottle if you ask .. its free.

Snorkel... Every day.. The best entrance I felt was on the beach near villa number 2.

Get some of the water booties as there are small broken bits of (dead) coral if you are out in the sea and they are sharp. Its not a issue but for a tenner a pair its money well spent.

Make sure you dont run out of sun cream as its a fortune there.

Get you butler to book the very romantic pavillion meal ( on the jetty ) early if you have a special date in mind.

Enjoy the spa.. it was about $100 a pop and well worth it men and ladies.

Take a good underwater camera.

Get a sunset side villa

Dont walk on the beach by the bar late night unless you like crabs.

Make sure you have a good look at the bats.

Get Jobe the barman to make you a long island iced tea.

Split the club sandwich for lunch rather than one each.

Fish curry... wow......

Take some music.

Eat on the beach one night under candle light.

Take a good quality deet spray ( although I felt it was not a problem)

Give the beach barbaque a miss. Too much and too dear.

Make sure you get to the (two) free cocktail evenings

Drink in the bar... Give the ferna Branca and grappa a wide birth. One night I another guest did a few to many shots and was rough as old boots.

Take one pair of shoes for the plane and leave the rest at home.

Pack light.. Its not a fashion parade and no-one cares about what your wearing

Leave you problems in London.

Sunshinebob.

Island Hideaway

Wow! Thank you so much Sunshinebob! That is great and so helpful! Will certainly follow your advice. Cannot wait to get there!

Sunshinebob,

Thanks so much for all of those tips, they are fantastic! My fiance and I are deciding between a few resorts for our honeymood, but Island HIdeaway is one of the lead horses. What do you think? It sounds like you%26#39;d recommend it??

I%26#39;ll save your tips and read them again before our trip in May!

Hi Gunners %26amp; KC

Strong recommend from me also. Stay in a Raamba Retreat great value for superb accomodation and all situated for easy access to the reef for snorkelling. This is almost exactly the time we went there last November. We%26#39;re off to the Andermans on Sunday not getting to the Maldives until February

You%26#39;ll have a great time

Regards

Doug

Subshinebob was right on -- brilliant and didn%26#39;t miss a thing. If you like champagne be sure to have them pop the cork and enjoy a Longgggggggggggggg beakfast.

We alos took the snorkeling trip and found it one of the best we have taken in the Maldives.

Maybe one other recommendation is to take the paddle boats and race around the island. It%26#39;s a hoot and great exercise.

We stayed in a Dinokolu Residence which was great but given how niice they all are, we would next time consider the lowest cost Funa Rooms as they are great as well and you also have your personal butler. Your butler will tell you that the answer to any question is ';yes'; and you better believe it. You should tip him well as he works his tail off and makes a super holiday super.

Hi there. We are soon to be going to island hideaway. It is the 6th time we have been lucky enough to go to the maldives. We are staying though in the funa%26#39;s although I see that the ramba%26#39;s seem better. Are the funa%26#39;s not well placed 4 beach etc?

Also have never had a butler before, how much tips do they expect? scarey!

karen you do realise this post was 2007!

Gosh Time flighs!

It was lovely to read your post though. Hope you are well.

With my best wishes. Karen.
