july weather

Hi mchappy

July is a bit of a hit and miss month. We went July 13th 2007.First week was a wash out, luckily we went for 3 weeks so we still had 2 good weeks. But it wouldn%26#39;t put me off going again in July. just remember if it rained on the island that we were on it doesn%26#39;t mean it was raining on every island! Hope this helps.

I%26#39;ve been about 10 times in July and never had bad weather - just about 5 days of rain out of 150!! Off again this July, need I say more?

Thanks for your replies, never been to maldives, only the carribean and love cuba and the people, looking to try something different. Kaz

Hi Kaz McHappy! I went in 2nd week of July last year - weather stormy and cloudy on arrival but still very warm and pleasant - I know that sounds a bit odd but it%26#39;s true. After the first 48 hours the weather just improved every day for the rest of the 2 weeks. I think you may experience choppier seas but just go to the other side of the island from where the wind is coming from and its calmer. I would go back in July no bother. We love Cuba too but the Maldives is just incomparable because its so different - not as loud (though I like loud) or as brassy (I like brassy!) just very different, relaxing, peaceful, beautiful.

I am a Fifer too !

Hi McHappy

The link below is to an excellent article about the weather written by Emu72:

In addition to Emu72%26#39;s excellent review, you might like to take a look at this link to the Maldives Dept of Meteorology.

July is in the middle of the wet monsoon season, so some rain is almost certain. How much and when is anyone%26#39;s guess. Some posters are lucky and go in the rainy season and have great weather. Others have reported days of continuous rain. The other thing to be aware of is that the weather can vary greatly from island to island.

All you can say with any certainty is that it will be hot!
