Hi
We have been looking at booking this resort online through Thomson/First Choice in the UK but can%26#39;t seem to find any availability for the water villas. Would it be better to go in to the travel agent or should i be able to view all rooms online? any help please?
Thanks
Meeru Island Resort
Hi Brian
Could mean that they have no availability for the dates you want. Try changing your dates and see what happens. Also, try looking at alternative tour operators who use Meeru.

Meeru Island Resort
Hi
I have tried all sorts of dates with Thomson and first choice but nothing, all that keeps coming up is, Double, Villa or Water Villa with Jaccuzi. The last is out of our price range and i believe are in the sea. The water villa%26#39;s i believe are on the beach and you walk out straight in to the sea which would be perfect for us. Unless i have got this wrong?
Thanks.
Hi Brian
The Water Villas are on the shoreline. However, Meeru are in the process of upgrading them all to Jacuzzi Water Villas. If you go on the website I gave you above you will find a whole thread devoted to the building works. It is therefore possible that Meeru have taken some or all of these out of commission while the upgrading is being done.

Hi Brian
Apolgies - I was thinking of another thread from last week.
The website is: www.meeru.co.uk
This is an unofficial UK website run entirely by Meeru enthusiasts.

Thanks for your help
I have actually managed to find a water villa on Monarch web site and the price is good!!! Only problem is it says you have to go via Dubai so not so sure.
Brian.
Hi Brian
That%26#39;s good news about the WV. Surprised at the routing via Dubai. I was always under the impression that Monarch flew direct to the Maldives. Perhaps they are using Emirates instead of one of their own planes or flying some sort of code-share route?
OD
Yeah it is an Emirates flight so not sure what to do about that. We have plenty of time to think yet as we are only looking to go April 2010!!!
Thanks for your help
Brian.
Hi Brian
If it is an Emirates flight I wouldn%26#39;t worry. Personally I would worry more if it was a Monarch flight!!
The pages of this forum are full of discussions about the relative merits of Monarch Airways. Personally I avoid them like the plague. Others on this forum say they are OK.
Very few, if any, people on this forum have a bad word to say about Emirates. They are very good - especially their In Flight Entertainment system which is state of the art. Many people quite enjoy the layover in Dubai - makes for a nice break after 7 hours in the air. Duty free shopping is also good. Emirates now have their own terminal at Dubai, which is again supposed to be excellent.

Hi OD
That sounds great then!!!!! The Meeru sounds amazing and it%26#39;s going to be our honeymoon so need to get it right ha! I will check out Thomson/First Choice over the next few months too you never know which way the prices will go at the moment.
Thanks
Brian.
Hi Brian, We flew wiyh Emirates last April when we stayed in Dubai. The Airport is ABSOLUTELY fantastic. you will have plenty of things to do there, there is gold everywhere, we are off to Meeru at the end of March in a water villa and we booked thru a travel firm called E-Shores and they were the cheapest anywhere, they deal with Hayes and Jarvis which is a very reputable travel company. Ask for Kady if you have not already booked. I%26#39;ll let you know if they have been upgraded to jacuzzi%26#39;s
Regards Alan Lawlor.
