Sea Plane Chaaya Reef Ellaidhoo

Is it usually a long wait for the sea plane to this particular island?

If so has anyone waited at the local hotel(we have done this before)or is it more of a case of not knowing when it will turn up and just waiting several hours at the terminal?

The seaplanes are booked like any transfer (coach-taxi)the travel company knows when you are arriving / departing and book acordinly, the most we have waited is 45 mins although i have spoken to people who have waited 2 hours, the new seaplane terminal is good and comfy, so i would not worry.

As Rumps says, seaplane departures are linked to the international arrivals. If you have to wait for a couple of planes to land at Male, then your wait at the seaplane terminal might be a couple of hours. There are electronic departure boards so you will quickly be able to see how long you will have to wait.

There is plenty of seating and a nice bar. Just chill out, watch the seaplanes land and depart, and generally relax!

Thanks for all the info have been by sea plane before(about 4 times) including from the new terminal.

The reason I ask is because some reviews for this island suggest a 4.5 hour wait!

The time we went to the Hulhule hotel was when we were actually left off the sea plane passanger list!It was very nice, pool and cold beer so thought if had to wait again would go there.
