Watching the sun rise in Maldives

Ok so its 1am in the morning here and I%26#39;m sitting watching the webcam at Kuredu island, and its beautiful watching it all come to light!!

How I wish I was there!!

Does anyone have any other links of webcams in the maldives, I%26#39;ve searched the net and can%26#39;t seem to find any.

Its great to check in everyday to see what the weather is like, and also see the messages written in the sands lol.

I honestly think I%26#39;ve gone insane...

Best wishes KP :P

Got to say although February is classed as a great month to go, the other day it rained there and today isn%26#39;t looking so good. Luck of the draw I guess...

Best wishes :)

island recommendation

hey everyone, i am looking to go back to the maldives next year. i went to vakaruflahi last year and loved it but i know its closed now and will be italian resort only. can anyone recommend a similar island that has a great house reef and nice accomodation? would prefer a more relaxed resort dont want it to be too busy and crammed.

thanks

Why dont you try Komandoo? Its out of this world! We went there in 2000 but its got water bungalows added now. Think its got quite expensive now but you could check it out and maybe get a good All Inclusive deal?

island recommendation

hi ste

A buget would help us more in our recomendations.

Rumps

yes komandoo has gone very expensive, two years ago it was one of the islands i was looking at, around £2000-£2400 for 2 weeks think its more like £3000 now. budget-wise i dont want to go overboard so 2k give or take a little :)

Ste - is £2k for 2 of you and for BB or AI? I would normally recommend Reethi Beach but the prices have gone up considerably for next year and that is before they upgrade it.

If it is for both of you, the larger islands tend to be within that budget.

Softail

oh no this will each and full board/ all inclusive would be preferable depending on the price diff between the two i.e. if AI is £400 more than fullboard then AI wouldnt be worth it as i wont be drinking that much beer :)

Angsana Ihuru may come in budget depending what time of year you are going?

i checked angsana and thats coming out at nearly 7k in december so will be a lot more in jan-march im guessing. bit out my price range. maybe thailand would be a better option

Ste

look at Ellaidhoo and Fiha both good reefs--Fiah only does FB but E-doo does AI, both within buget and needs depending on what type of accomodation you want.

Rumps

ouch! we paid £6k (2 people FB Sri Lankan 2 weeks)

Karla,

thats a big Ouch.

Found the perfect island

Hi All

Only 18 rooms, no swimming pool, sand floor restaurant, wonderful food, villa 2 metres from the sea then three metres masses of live coral, wonderful snorkelling, free yacht trips, only three water villas, truly paradise. I%26#39;d love to tell you which island it is but I don%26#39;t want you lot trampling all over it, so if I tell you I%26#39;ll have to kill you

;-))

I wish you%26#39;d kept quiet KD, but I%26#39;m curious - what happened to the 4th water villa?

Which room were you in?

Isn%26#39;t that coral amazing?

Thanks for posting so soon after your return. Ever since you mentioned where you were going I%26#39;ve been waiting to read what you thought about the island. Sounds like it may be the island we%26#39;re all searching for though I%26#39;m not sure that it would be within our price range.

    Makunudu

Hi guys! We have booked our one week trip to Makunudu.

Any extra information about the resort?

We are in AI can anyone tell me exactly what is included in it?

Have transfer in speed boat but would prefer seaplane (I know it is a short ride but ...) have contact the island but they reply the cost would be 1200$ too much. I have tried to contact also MaldivianAir Taxi but my mail failed does anyone have info or email addresses for seaplane companies?

    Many thanks.

    Makunudu

    Hi

The island is not listed as a client on either of the websites of the seaplane companies, so it would have to be a special charter. This is probably the price you have been quoted.

The websites for Maldivian air Taxis and Trans Maldivian Airways are:

    Thanks!!!!!!!

  • Biyadoo - English Tour Operators

Can%26#39;t decide which to try, Embudu or Biyadoo, looking at the reviews for value for money and most importantly, good snorkelling.

I%26#39;ve found Embudu but can%26#39;t find Biyadoo in my holiday brochures.

Can you tell me which Tour Operators go there?

    Thanks

    Biyadoo - English Tour Operators

    Hi Ian105

Hayes and Jarvis %26amp; Kuoni definitely go there, I%26#39;m sure there are others as well..

    hope this helps,
