In a nut shell......is it worth upgrading or not?
first choice - premium seats

Personally I think not. We are going with them in 3 weeks and have booked to sit together for 拢20 each but we%26#39;d rather save the rest of our dosh for treats when we get there.

first choice - premium seats
I am pricing up for a holiday and asking the same question. Think might pay the 拢20 to sit together, the 拢5 to get the film package if there is something I want to see and keep the rest for the Spa or in reality it could mean the difference between going and statying at home.

Just come back from Kenya and went premium, i would say they are only worth the extra if it is for something special -as it was for us,
Another reason we took it ,was it only cost 拢280 for the 2 of us, It is good for the priority on -off and for the staff ratio to passengers , its also good for the free drinks and the extra space, paying normal prices for premium i would say No.

Hi
Some posters swear by them. Others, like me, think they are not worth it, unless you can get a good deal on the price. FC economy has reasonable seats and good seat pitch - 34';.
If you want to be sure of sitting with your OH then you need to pay the extra 拢20 a head to guarentee it. Premium seats are allocated when you book and I believe there is no guarentee of sitting with someone. We often hear reports on this forum of honeymoon couples having to sit apart.

Must admit i have booked premium seats simply because I%26#39;ve not ever gone premium before but want to as a treat. I will be annoyed if we are not sat next to each other though as paying such a lot for them ought to include the sitting together bit.
we upgraded last year when we went and i don%26#39;t think its worth the extra money. We sat together on the way out but on the way back we had to sit behind one another, there is no gaurante that you will sit together as the seats are allocated the day before and are not changeable.

Thanks for that guys! Looks like just sitting together is a better deal and maybe the extra leg room seats - only because i%26#39;m fussy and fiddle a lot in my seat! I%26#39;ll see if i can persuade OH that it ain%26#39;t worth it!
It is worth it, in my opinion, spacious, fewer people around as in separate cabin, so feels nicer all in all, esp as did not cost much extra (relative to overall holiday) and we always dread the flight - this one was the best longhaul we ever had.
Other extras are different menu, first in / off plane, free drinks, really good service.
Yes - I think so(worth upgrading). Agree with the last poster - its just a bit more special. BUT I wish all airlines who offer this service would get their act together. Why can%26#39;t they allocate seats as and when they are booked? That way you would know whether you would be sitting next to your other half and could choose NOT to book and pay all that extra money if you were to be seated apart/across the aisle, one behind the other etc. Its a heck of a lot to pay extra if you are not seated together, especially on a long haul flight. After all you CAN book your seats in cattle class on a lot of airlines so why not in Premium Economy?
OK - rant over! Maybe someone from cabin crew could jump in here and tell me the answer?

Depends on the cost. Couple of years ago we flew to Dom Rep with FC and upgraded for 拢110 each - well worth it. Next 2 years - to Mexico and Dom Rep again - the cost was 拢200+ each so we went ';cattle class';, which was fine.
Enough leg room, decent service, seat back TV%26#39;s - do pay 拢5 for the Entertainment Upgrade - and reasonable food.
So I%26#39;d say, with First Choice, it is not worth it unless the cost is 拢100 or so, or unless you want to make it extra special.
