Hi all
We are looking for some advice on what island to go to for our honeymoon.
We are looking at AI, jacuzzi water/beach villas.
Also, since its May, we have noticed on some sites that it says May has a high rain fall??? Is this the case and is there only 4 hours sunshine????
All Advice welcome
Honeymoon in May advice
Hi johnanddiane7,
If you could give an idea of what your budget is, your preference of size of island, and whether snorkelling/diving is important..it will help people recommend the most suitable alternatives.
With regards to weather, it is the ';rainy'; season, but I%26#39;m sure on average there is more than 4 hours of sun per day. Have a look at the links below.
We%26#39;ve been in May and had very little daytime rain, and a couple of cloudy days (you will still need suncream!). There are others who have posted on here who have had several days consecutive rain.

the latter lets you view month by month history/statistics.

Honeymoon in May advice
Hi J%26amp;D,
4 HOURS OF SUN / DAYLIGHT,its the Maldives not Iceland lol,as Ian has said it is the rain season -But been in May the last 3 years and no rain in the day, or have had 1 cloud wonders come over drop and gone.
Rumps
Thanks Ian
We would be looking for an island that has a bit to do and see but also have the chilled out relaxed feeling you want on a honeymoon. diving etc not to important, would give it a try though.
Budget would be around 3500 ish, give or take a bit (wedding costing a fair bit!!!!)
Any ideas? As i had said we had been looking at jacuzzi beach/ water villas.
Thanks
j%26amp;d

Has anyone been in May to give us an idea on the weather. Having checked various websites it seems to vary by quite a bit
Take a look at this link to the Maldives Dept of Meteorology.
http://www.meteorology.gov.mv/
If you click on Climate at the top it will bring up numerous charts that tell the averages in precip sunshine hours etc for various months.
In addition to the previously mentioned weather site my favorite for people who have way to much time on their hands to be Obsessed with what the weather might be like is:
http://www.wunderground.com/history/
If you go to this site you can type in three different locations in the Maldives (Male, Hanimadu and Kadhdhoo) and a date and see what the weather was like every hour for that 24 hour day. In the case of Male this data is available for many years back and in the case of the other two locations for the last couple of years. Want to know what the weather was like on MAY 15th in 2004 in Male? Well now you can for every hour of that day. I%26#39;m not sure how this will benefit you in any way whatsoever when it comes to predicting the future weather but as I said.... if you are really obsessed with Maldivian weather this is the site for you (smiles).
