kandholhu vs ellaidhoo

Hi, some advice please! I can get a standard room on Kandholhu HB for the same price as beach bungalow on Ellaidhoo Chaaya Reef AI next Jan, don%26#39;t know which one to book as finding info about Kandholhu proving v difficult. Main reason for going is snorkelling and diving but also would like lovely island to relax on and absorb maldives atmosphere. Been to Meeru before land bungalow and was happy except for snorkelling.

Kandaholudu island is a lot nicer looking than Ellaidhoo, it also offers better house reef snorkeling as it is the No1 house reef in the Maldives.

Elliadhoo on the otherhand offers the best house reef diving in the Maldives.

Both islands will have access to the same excellent dive sites that are in that area, so if snorkeling is more important than diving choose Kandu or if diving is then choose Elliadhoo.

But the best of both worlds and really nice surroundings would be Kandu.

thanks for your advice. I think my only concern would be sheer jealousy on Kandholhu as I don%26#39;t think we can stretch to the beach front rooms and they seem far superior. Might wait until I get a pay rise to visit Kandu... Decisions decisions...what a nice one to have to make though! I love the Maldives!

Which did you choose? Have you been yet? I am looking at both of these islands and Vilamendhoo. for Jan 2010. Did you get to see any Mantas or Whale Sharks? May try and do a week on Ellaidhoo and a week on Vilamendhoo.
