Late Arrival - Is airport open all night?

I will be arriving into MLE at 1:10 a.m. on a flight from Bangkok (via Colombo), and will be transfering out to Mirihi at first light.

By the time we clear immigration it will likely be around 2:00 a.m., and I don%26#39;t see the point paying $260 plus for a hotel for 3-4 hours.

Will I be able to stay in the airport for a few hours that late at night? The last flight into MLE arrives at 1:15 a.m., so the whole airport may be locked down for a few hours after the last flight.

My other option is to overnight in Colombo (we arrive into CMB at 10:00 p.m.) and leave on a 7:00 a.m. flight to MLE.

their is much cheaper hotels then US260/- city hotel are cheaper you can try that

Thanks for the reponse - I was thinking about the Hulhule airport hotel, which would be the most convenient and allow us the most rest.

By the time we%26#39;re at a hotel Male, we%26#39;d have to turn around in 2-3 hours anyway. If we could stay at the airport for 3-4 hours that would do me just fine.
