Hi There
We are planning a holiday for the mid 2 weeks of June. My husband and I have been twice to the Maldives (Bandos December 05 and Veligandu December 06) With mixed results - Bandos; great as a first Maldivian resort destination with plenty of activity and great value. Veligandu (our honeymoon) was disappointing for snorkling and activities, given the bad weather. (I understand it has been renovated now..)
I am looking for advise as we are travelling with our 2 year old. He is a busy chap, so I would like to find out a bit more than the tour operators/official website offer about the kids club and what to expect from June weather in Lhaviyani Atoll. I read somewhere that Southern atols are recommended for British summer time...L.Attol is about as North as they get... I guess really we are looking for a more polished version of Bandos with the hope to get a tan, have plenty of family time and a good time for our boy.
Other possibilities are Anantara Maldives
Many thanks in advance
Cathy

Why 2 posts same content different titles????
Maldives Family Holiday June
no reason, just copies and paste, then guess I put in a different title... posted on kanuhura website, then thought may be better located on general maldives forum
no harm meant, just hoping to get a few replies
Cathy .. the weather in june is going to be mixed .. its the low season for good reason .
you can be incredibly lucky or incredibly unlucky but i have never heard that there would be a difference between north and south atolls.
expect anything between 2 weeks of sunshine with short showers and 2 weeks of non-stop rain. the latter is rare but has been known to happen .
with a kid that small, i would definitely not venture far away from medical care. the further away islands leave you a 30 - 45 minute flight away from Male airport and even further from the hospital and that only if a seaplane happened to be right there and an accident or illness occurred in daylight hours. some island have doctors , but they tend to be physicians that basically get a free vacation in exchange for office hours. they could be an emergency room doc as well as a podiatrist (yes i am serious)
bandos is a great family place .. i would consider revisiting with the little one .
Anantara isn%26#39;t much for snorkeling and pretty inconvenient for diving..you might want to look through the reviews . also, before you fall in love with a watervilla .. most resorts don%26#39;t allow kids in them - so checking with the resort is a good idea .
