Questions about Kuredu Please!

Hi there on the verge of booking a honeymoon to Kuredu just want to ask a few questions

We have decided to go for a jacuzzi beach villa. After looking at pictures of the front view they seem quite private from neighbouring villas, is this correct?

Also we are going All Inclusive, but is it worth going for the Gold All Inclusive?

I like the idea of the mini bar and the cocktails being included, but they are asking for an exra 拢700 for the AI gold.

Are the Cocktails reasonably priced? Also with the drinks being available from the bar and %26#39;by the glass%26#39; can we take any back to our room? beacuse I like the idea for having a drink whilst in the jaccuzzi.

Also with the water is that also by the glass or do we get bottles, beacuse if we needed water during the night or in the morning it will be a problem unless we are on gold.

Please Advise

Questions about Kuredu Please!

Hi,

First bit of advice is to join the Kuredu websites own forum. The folks on there are most helpful with some having visited the island many times over. However it can take a while to have your account activated so I鈥檒l tell you what I know in the mean time.

By all accounts the beach villas are private. There are two types of Villa 鈥極鈥?and Koamas. The jist is that the O鈥檚 are newer and part of the adults only part of the resort and you鈥檙e closet to the O bar, restaurant and pool. The atmosphere here is meant to be much quieter/romantic but you can go to any of the other bars if you fancy something a bit more livelily. You can also eat in any of the other buffet restaurants subject to making a same day booking. Komas is generally regarded to have the nicer beach and swimming (although I鈥檓 assured the O is beautiful too). As the O resort is adults only it鈥檚 likely they鈥檒l put you there unless you ask otherwise. Gold AI is $55 per person per day to upgrade at today鈥檚 rate that鈥檚 about 拢38. Kuoni offer this upgrade on booking @ 拢30 pppn.

It鈥檚 a widely debated issue on the Keredu website as to whether or not it鈥檚 worth it. Some people don鈥檛 find that AI or HB works for them so just go for room only or B%26amp;B. Cocktails are $10 a go but they have one on special per night which I think is cheaper. There is also a happy hour where cocktails are two for one. If you particularly like your cocktails then you can see that you鈥檇 only need 5 a day to pretty much break even. Drinks aren鈥檛 allowed back to the room from the bar but I鈥檓 sure people do it. Water is by the glass and you get a bottle in your room every day 2.5l I think. Below are what is included in standard and Gold AI

Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main restaurant

* Afternoon tea or nescaf茅

* These fine beverages will be served by glass only: mineral water, soft drinks, red and white table wine, canned and draught beer, Cider, canned fruit juices: Orange, Pineapple and Tomato; Campari, assorted selected spirits of: Whiskey, Vodka, Gin, Rum, Brandy or similar

* Windsurfing and canoeing

As an All-Inclusive guest you have reduction on different facilities as follows:

* 20% discount on all Food %26amp; Beverage products in the a la Carte Restaurants (except the Local Teahouse)

* 50% discount on bottles of water.

All Inclusive GOLD

The G O L D concept includes:

* Normal All-Inclusive

* Minibar refilled once daily

* Cocktails at all bars daily

* Afternoon High Tea/snacks daily

* One dinner per week in Francos restaurant.

* One hour Spa treatment per week

* Tennis

* One Golf round per week

* Intro or check up dive

We鈥檙e off in a little over 4 weeks and have contemplated the Gold AI. The good thing is you can upgrade in resort (minimum of 6 days) so you can take a day or two weighing up if it鈥檚 going to be cost effective or not as you may find pay as you go may be cheaper depending on how much you like your booze! Personally I think we鈥檒l go for it as like you we fancy being able to nip into the room and get a drink from the fridge rather than going the bar, plus it鈥檚 nice not to have to worry about things adding up but then again you could pay your hotel tab every day or every other day to keep track.

I鈥檒l dig out an old PM that will tell you what鈥檚 included in the mini bar and post it or PM you.

Questions about Kuredu Please!

Hi Randy O,

Welcome to the forum,

You have to ask besides the Ai package--are you going to drink 拢700 worth of extra drinks?? I think not, the islands all work in the same way and yes , there is ways of taking drinks back to your room--Empty the mini bar and use the fridge for your own stuff, water is given by the bottle and at meal times, just ask for an extra one towards the end of your meal and take it with you.Also you are provided with bottles of water in your room on a daily basis.

This is the link to one of the many AI Vs Gold AI on the Kuredu website:

www.kuredu.com/community/forum/viewtopic.php鈥?/a>

The in room mini bar contains:

Beer.

White wine.

Red wine.

Sparkling wine.

Soft Drinks

Miniature bottles of bacardi,whisky,vodka %26amp; gin.

Mixers.

Water.

Bounty bars..

M %26amp; M%26#39;s

Pringles.

I%26#39;m sure I%26#39;ve read that branded spirts are included in the Gold AI otherwise it%26#39;s just the local stuff-will have to confirm this.

Brillant guys. Thanks for the advise.

Im glad they give us water to our room and there are ways to take drinks to our room.

I think I will be going the normal AI. if we want cocktails we can buy them. Im sure we wont be drinking them every day!

Thanks again

Got to disagree with you a little on that Rumps. To some people 5 cocktails a day would seem excessive to others 10 a day would be a quiet one! I do agree that to get your monies worth you鈥檝e got to enjoy your cocktails and booze in general.

RandyOrton unfortunately it鈥檚 illegal to bring alcohol into the Maldives, it would be pretty nice to pick up a few duty free drinks like champagne to enjoy while you鈥檙e there rather than paying a fortune to buy them from the hotel. Have a good time whatever you decide on!

No problem--benjii,

Not going to argue over a few cocktails But--lol,
