Does anyone know if you can bring in any duty free from Male or Dubai - exchange rate so poor now!

Short answer is NO you can%26#39;t. They check luggage when you arrive and they will take it away and keep it for you if they catch you bringing liquor into the country. On the other hand they will be more than happy to sell you duty free on your way out of the country (smiles).

Being a Muslim country alcohol is illegal, as skibum says all bags are x-rayed and it will be taken from you.They accept alcohol on the islands as its a form of income, the lads serving, in the bars will not be Muslim, and will be sri Lankan or Indian.
