It%26#39;s been a couple of years since I%26#39;ve been to the islands and back then, you and active girl were so helpful. As Vakaru is now closed, can you tell me of similar islands ie. size, beauty, food quality, house reef. Not looking top of the range because I believe they lose their charm, but do want tranquil, time, spaciously set apart rooms, and high quality dive outfit for partner.
for scooby boy please or active girlHi Snorkelbabe .... welcome back! It%26#39;s not easy to beat Vakaru in my opinion but Komandoo is good and the snorkelling is excellent. They%26#39;ve got the same dive outfit as Vakaru. But they have had recent price hikes, not sure if it suits your pocket but take a look. I%26#39;ve booked Mirihi this but it is quite expensive.
Others you can take a look is Veligandu but not sure of the snorkelling as I%26#39;ve not been there ... Scoobyboy has but he not quite on the forum as much these days ....
Bernese (one of the other ';new'; experts) has been to Veligandu so I am sure she will post when she spots this post.

We%26#39;ve been to both Veligandu %26amp; Komandoo. Both great islands, similar in size %26amp; room numbers. We went to Veli before their refurb, and to be honest there are a few too many water villas there now for our liking. Snorkelling was much better at Komandoo.
Prices have rocketed for both. I don%26#39;t think there is too much difference between them cost-wise so if snorkelling is a deal-maker I%26#39;d defo pick Komandoo out of the two.
