Is it easy to be upgraded with Qatar

Reading many reviews on Qatar Airways I read that many time it can happen that they upgrade you for free.

Is it true?

We are travelling with them in eco :( would be great to make one leg in business

We flew with them last year and got an upgrade when boarding unexpectedly - we did not ask - it was a lovely surprise and most enjoyable. It would be great if it happened again but I won%26#39;t count on it!

hmm well good luck. Have flown with them twice to Maldives (am part of their frequent fliers)never had an upgrade. Last time asked for a 2 seater seat did not even get that!.
