Velassaru

Just to let people know that Velassaru%26#39;s website is now live.....and I have booked my holiday to go there for a week at the end of April......very excited.....it worked out at 拢1200 pp for 7 nights staying in a beach-villa at halfboard + direct flights with Sri Lanka. The HB supplement was 拢25 pppn, so it seemed quite a decent deal......I think.

Anyone else going to Velassaru?

I booked with Kuoni, however early March prices are 拢200 cheaper than end April prices.....as March is more peak season than April.

Do you know which side of the island you are staying? Can%26#39;t wait to hear what you though of it!

Hi we are going at the beginning of May also in a beach villa! On the website it looks fantastic - cant wait!

Their rooms look amazing......clean, new...and great prices...I think this resort will be 30% more expensive in 6 months...I think the cheap prices are to do with the fact that they want to get people visiting and get good reviews.......

Have you requested a particular side of the island?

No we havnt requested a particular side. Im not too bothered really. will just discover the place when we get there!

The E-mail I received from Velassaru stated that the Beach Villas are on the North East %26amp; North West sides.....and from this forum I think the North East side faces the rubbish island.....

have you asked the resort about the rubbish island? I can only see one review that mentions it so i dont think that you will really be able to see it?

hi there we are off to Velassaru this Sunday 1st March - does anyone have any news? Kuoni have not been very forthcoming with information except to say they will contact us if it is not going to happen to make other arrangements.

Should be fine....just call the resort if you are concerned.....but my understanding is that the resort will open on Sunday!
