Whale submarine

Hi,

Did anyone do the ';Whale Submarine'; excursion in Male? Could you share your thoughts and experience with me?

Thank you.

Hi Pitch

I have done something similar in Barbados and it was excellent!

The sea was a bit choppy when we did the Barbados sub and it was wallowing a lot on the surface. We noticed a lot of ';green'; faces as the passengers came off. So a useful tip is to be last on and therefore first off. This minimises you time above water.

My family and I did the Whale Submarine 2 weeks ago whilst on our holiday in Fihalhohi. To be honest I thought it was an expensive excursion for what we actually saw. The submarine didn%26#39;t really submerge that far down and then only travelled forwards for a short distance. The reef is only on the left side so passengers have to swap seats after about 15 minutes to allow for the others to get a good look too. The sub got so close to the reef that you could only see fish that happened to swim past the window because it was impossible to see elsewhere. After looking at the same piece of coral for 10 minutes I was quite bored and throughout the 30 minutes we actually spent underwater we only saw the usual variety of fish...no sign of any sharks, rays etc. Personally I was glad for it to end as I had seen more whilst snorkelling in 3 feet of water at Fihalhohi. Other people on the trip felt the same as I did. I hope this helps.
