Some interesting reviews have appeared about Komandoo lately..it would appear if you go to Kuredu and get upgraded to Komandoo you%26#39;re an uncouth yob, and if you%26#39;re a repeat visitor to Komandoo you%26#39;re a moaning snob... :-0

Kuredu vs Komandoo review battle shocker!
Yes very interesting this, have been following it carefully!! (better than Corrie).
I can see both points of view, having been to Komandoo twice it is paradise. Sadly I can no longer afford to go so if I did manange to aquire the cash to get there again I would be pretty peeved that other people have got there for I would suggest at least 拢1500 less and on all inclusive to boot (which is now far too expensive if u actually want it now on Komandoo). However if I was a Kuredian who had been upgraded its not their fault and I think most of us would make the most of it!!!.
Will follow with interest.

I must be the exception to the rule - being an uncouth yob - who has never been to Kuredu, and is a Komandoo repeater!!

It%26#39;s way better than Corrie!
I can see both sides, but there appears to be a bit of unnecessary stereotyping going on there!
We%26#39;ve been to Komandoo twice and won%26#39;t return unless they sort their prices out. It%26#39;s one thing to drop the AI as standard to give people a choice, but it%26#39;s another when you not only increase your prices tremendously, you put such a crazy tariff on the cost of AI.
I agree you would be a bit put out if people were getting something you weren%26#39;t. However, overbooking is rife in the Maldives at various times and with Kuredu and Komandoo being not only sister islands, but relatively close together it is inevitable it will happen sometimes.

Hmm, ok, we booked for Kuredu and I would have been really disappointed if we had been shipped to Komandoo! We had to collect some people to take on the Muna trip, and we decided that Kuredu beach looked far superior! What tossers!
We are going to be Komandoo repeaters in a few weeks time and I can certainly see both sides of this but I must admit that it did annoy me a bit last year, seeing the boat full of snorkellers arrive every afternoon, splashing up and down the nicest part of the housereef and trying to stand on the coral in their flippers! I assumed from that, that Kuredu must not have a very good reef, and Komandoo is going to lose its reef if people continue to treat it in that way, so yes, I am sounding like a moaning snob :-)
Kuredu does have a great house reef, and excellent lagoons on the other side of the island too. I think people just like to do the %26#39;see another island%26#39; trip for a couple of hours, as well as the hour trip on a boat to and fro.
wow strong words %26amp; opinions in these reviews, but basically seem tit for tat.Think the issue is, if booking Kuredu you are( %26amp; most people spending the amount of money any Maldives holiday costs choose their island very carefully)looking for a large island with plenty to do,%26amp; a variety of eateries %26amp; activities,if you are looking to book Komandoo you are looking for a quiet island, with little more than snorkelling /diving/sunbathing to do,therefore a clash of what people want %26amp; require from a holiday ,not yobs or snobs, just people wanting different things. It is the management that are at fault here %26amp; especially in changing the format %26amp; pricing of holidays to Komandoo, which imo has led to the decrease in bookings, whereas there have been some good deals recently to kuredu.
Don%26#39;t think Pushka that anyone is %26#39;shipped%26#39; to Komandoo without wanting to be.Similar happened on Meeru where incentives were given to try %26amp; get people to move to ease over booking.

Yes, it is always done because of over-booking, but you never know when that is going to happen. If this attitude is common on Koomandoo they can have their little island - hate being around snobs anyway! And I detest people who think a person%26#39;s character is based on the expense of accommodation they stay in!
Hi Pushka
We%26#39;ve been to Komandoo twice, and have never experienced (nor would we want to) the type of behaviour described in some of those reviews. I suppose you can get rude people or people who take great pleasure in complaining wherever you go...even in paradise :-)
As far as I can see, the main, probably only, difference between Kuredu %26amp; Komandoo is the size of the islands. There are more varied types of accommodation on Kuredu, some cheaper than Komandoo, some way more expensive. I personally wouldn%26#39;t choose to stay at Kuredu for no other reason than we prefer smaller islands.
Hope you enjoy your holiday..

We did not find Komandoo or the people on it at the time we were there in the least bit snobby. There were a few repeating guests who thought they deserved special treatment, but from what I observed they did not really get it. you can find snobs anywhere, there are always those who think they are so much better than others,%26amp; make this very obvious.I don%26#39;t think a few reviews should lead to an island being labelled as snobby.
