I know this has asked before, but we go to Meedhupparu in a months time and am looking for some pointers on the best room locations?
Ideally we%26#39;d like to be directly on the beach, in a quiet area..
Is the North or South side better?
Thanks for any advice!
Meedhupparu - Room NumbersHi,
We%26#39;ve returned from Meedhupparu last week and if you want quiet and a little bit private area - definitly you should choose South side. Rooms 277+ are the best, however not all of them. It depends what you prefer - we decided to have 10-15 steps to the beach and the view for the ocean disturbed a little bit by trees but in return we had almost private beach, beautiful partly garden and partly ocean view from our terrace and room located in ';Ayuverda Village'; (room no 313).
As far as I know it is almost not possible to make prior reservation of the room - the answer from hotel is always the same: ';we do our best, but we cannot guarantee...'; Don%26#39;t worry about that - you can change the room when you reach the island... Just after arrival, we received the worst room (in our opion - 173) and next day we had been moved to 313 (the best one!!!). Our recomendation:
1) do not waste your time for booking any room now - it will not work any way
2) when you reach hotel - take any room they will give you
3) ask for ';room change request form';
4) go for 30 minuts walk around the island (with map) and mark on the map rooms which meet your requirements
5) return to reception with form (mark room no you want)
6)* as an option - give a tip to a guy who is responsible for allocation (you will receive a key from him - sorry, I cannot remember his name...). We tipped him well and the result was grate...
Hope the above will be helpfull for you.

Hi all we are off to meedhupparu in april 09 and am now very worried having read various reviews. We are spending 4500 on what is ment to be a holiday of a life time. a one off but having read numorous revious to say i am worried is an understatment.
can anyone who has been recently reassure me i am doing the right thing ?
Please email me at stuboy32@hotmail.co.uk with any views. thanks all.
Hi Millie if all you want is a beach room, then any room will be great as they are all directly on the beach. However some have more beach than others, some have a sunrise view, some have a sunset view, some have a vegetation view and some have the erosion wall as their view. If you mail me with your email address I%26#39;ll send you a map of Meed and a bit of an idea which room is which. Would be silly for me to explain on here..and Stuboy.. please mail me and I will do my best to help. We%26#39;ve been twice and loved it. Both pre revamp, however dont think that will change anything other than costs etc.
Look forward to hearing from you
Hi am off to Meedhupparu in August and am panicking as we have been reading some of the reviews... went to Villamendu last year and had a fab time, a few little clitches but everything was sorted as it wasn%26#39;t anything major. hoping this island is going to be as good ie no crowds, good food, fab snorkelling on fantastic reef, great beach and clean rooms and I hate to say it but very few kids ( am a teacher and want a break away from the little lovelies before september starts!) Would be greatful for any tips, advice etc
