Hi all,
Could I please have some of you opinions over what resort would suit us please.
5 years ago we went to Kuredu and although we loved it I would like smaller and quieter for our second visit to the Maldives. I have looked at Reethi Beach and it does seem like a real posiblity and that is the sort of budget we are looking for. If any of you have any more ideas please let me know.
Priorities are:
All inclusive.
Very good reef.
A simple resort, which is still quite natural.
Not forced to sit with others in the restaurant.
A bar with no entertainment.
A relaxed, no shoes, atmosphere.
Is there an ideal resort out there for me??
Thanks

Makunudu!
It fits your wishlist perfectly!
About 36 rooms, one of the most natural and typically Maldivian islands there is, amazing food (even though AI available), no table sharing, good house reef (saw a Napolean wrasse!), sand floor bar with no entertainment (apart from the Sri Lankan barman who will sing Chris Rea if you ask nicely!)
Have a look - I%26#39;m sure you will love it!
Biyadhoo ticks all your boxes, especially for the reef. Not been myself yet but going in August. Have heard that the rooms aren%26#39;t the best though which may be a deal breaker. Very cheap in comparison to most Maldivian islands and you can get AI too.
I think Reethi is classed as a medium resort as it has 105 rooms. However, it ticks most of your boxes. The entertainment is the crab racing, fil show etc but done in the main bar.
It is a very relxed atmosphere. In fact hubby said it is the oly place he has ever truly switched off. The rooms are good but not luxury but the staff on both are visits have been absolutely fantastic. nothing seems to be too much trouble.
Not sure when you are goign, because I know the prices for 2010 seem to be alot higher than 2009.

Makunudu looks great but they want all inclusive not sure this is availiable.
Hi Palmer
You don%26#39;t say when you are thinking of going. If it is this year I would endorse Thudufushi. It ticks all your boxes although there is entertainment. This, however, is very laid back. I have been to Athuruga which is the sister island and had a wonderful time. Athuruga is closing soon for refurbishment - reopening early in 2010.
Biyadhoo ticks all your boxes because you don%26#39;t mention accommodation. At Biyadhoo, the rooms are a little tired although everything works. If you want a room on the beach then Biyadhoo doesn%26#39;t have them. Biyadhoo is believed to be closing at the end of this year for a major overhaul and upgrading.
You could look at Eriyadu, which is not unlike Biyadhoo but with rooms more on the beach.

Thanks everyone.
We are thinking of Jan 10 so just trying to get some ideas at the moment. Hoping that waiting may see prices reduced.
I have already looked at Biyahdoo and I would consider it. Rooms don%26#39;t bother me although I would prefer Buglalow style if possible and I like the outside bathrooms, but I am sure the price could persuade me. However, I thought that we would have to share a table in the restaurant at Biyahdoo?
I will look at all other suggestions.
Many thanks
Hi Palmer
I have been to Biyadhoo twice (3 times very soon) and have never seen anyone sharing tables.
