We are really keen to spend a week (6-8 nights) on the Maldives for part of our honeymoon but think we might get bored spending the whole 2 weeks there so are looking for somewhere else to combine it with. The obvious choices seem to be Dubai (not interested), Oman (way too hot in July) or Sri Lanka (flights do not tie in well and seems you would spend a day either side getting down to the coast in SL and back again)
I like the idea of some culture and LOVE Thailand ?malaysia but it doesnt seem to be very easy to combine . Has anyone done this or other twin centre holidays that worked out well and without too much time spent travelling /hanging around? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Also in the Maldives we are thinking of staying at the Taj Exotica or Coco beach Bodhu Hiti -any comments on this choice also welcome!
Twin centre honeymoon -Maldives and where?
we%26#39;re doing this in april/may off to sri lanka for a tour then maldives for a week, yes you do have to spend a night either side of the tour but we%26#39;re staying quite close to the airport and fly to maldives first thing the next morning so not too long spent there, because we%26#39;re doing a tour we won%26#39;t have travel far from the airport in sri lanka and will join the tour straight from there then staying in different places around sri lanka as we tour.
hope that helps.
Twin centre honeymoon -Maldives and where?
Hi Becky
Sri Lanaka has some nice hotels and beaches about 30 minutes north of colombo airport.
Several of the tour operators offer 2 centre holidays based on the Maldives eg Sri Lanka, Bangkok, Singapore, Kerala.

Hi Becky
It seems that Air Seychelles are supposedly starting a service that would include a Male - Seychelles leg.
If this exists, then the Seychelles would offer a another 2 centre option.

becky,
Could look at India--Karela--Goa.
Yes, was going to suggest Kerala too, not been (on my list!) but only 1 hour flight from Male. Should be a nice contrast. Reason we not made it there yet is that far from getting bored in Maldives we always wish we were staying longer...
